The Z1 CNC Ported Lower Intake Manifold for Nissan's 3.5L VQ35HR engine is a stock intake manifold that has been CNC ported using Z1's exclusive port profile to produce significant gains in horsepower and torque across the the entire powerband. This is achieved by opening the runners to their largest possible diameter while maintaining their shape for maximum flow. This manifold fits all models with the VQ35HR engine, including the '07+ 350Z & '07+ G35 Sedan. This upgrade is fairly simple but requires the removal of the upper plenum and fuel rail/injectors. Installation time may take up to 2 hours.
While the Z1 Ported Lower Intake Manifold works very well alone, Z1 recommends the use of our Intake Plenum Power Mod for increased efficiency and power. This can be done simultaneously for moderate power gains on Naturally Aspirated and Forced Induction engines.
In order to maximize the potential of the higher flowing Z1 CNC Ported VQ35HR Intake Manifold, we recommend several other basic upgrades as well as custom tuning at Z1. It's best to have your car custom dyno tuned to safely maximize the potential of performance modifications and we at Z1 Motorsports tune more VQ's with the Uprev software than anyone. However, if having your car tuned at Z1 is simply not an option, based on our library of experience we can provide a map well suited for your specific upgrades through our Mail-in Flash Service.
For your convenience, we offer the option to pay a refundable core charge and send your stock intake manifold back after installation of the Z1 manifold in order to eliminate downtime. If you return a core please pack it carefully. If we receive it in damaged condition, such as any broken mounting points, damaged/stripped threads, or cracks, no credit will be given. View our core return form and policy. Before returning your core, be sure to remove the intake studs! These MUST BE reused on your ported lower intake manifold and are NOT INCLUDED with purchase.
Upon removal of this manifold, new lower gaskets are required. New OEM Nissan HR / VHR gaskets can be purchased using the options below.
INSTALLATION NOTE: Completed manifolds may have areas of the intake runner that appear to be un-touched. THIS IS NORMAL. Due to dozens of variables in the casting process, no two castings are the same. Castings are generally assigned a profile tolerance which means the entire geometry must be within a window of dimensional accuracy. This often leaves considerable room for error in the surfaces that are left “as-cast”. Manufacturers identify the areas of critical tolerance and often choose to machine those areas (e.g. sealing surfaces and bolt holes). In the case of VQ intake runners, the runners are as cast and vary by a considerable amount. When hand ported, the technician can touch 100% of the surface to give the runner a uniform look. Though this may look better, the result is no two runners that are the same. However, when CNC porting a defined shape, an identical shape is cut each time. For some castings, this can result in areas of the runner that are un-touched. Know that this is okay. Making those areas even larger, by cutting them, would not improve performance.
