The Z1 Turbosmart Blow Off Valve Kit includes everything needed to install blow-off valves on Twin Turbo model Nissan 300ZX (Z32).
Why do I need blow-off valves?
A blow-off valve's sole purpose is to protect your turbo. The valve is actuated by manifold vacuum and designed to vent excess boost pressure into the atmosphere on forced induction cars when the throttle is closed. This release of boost pressure prevents damaging reverse shock waves from reaching your turbo while creating the infamous "psshhhh" sound that turbo cars are known for. Without this release, pressurized air can damage the turbine shaft bearings and compressor wheel. In more extreme cases the compressor wheel can literally explode in the housing.
Each valve is rated to support turbo systems around 600 HP individually, this pair of piston driven valves will easily support in excess of 1000 hp vehicles. It's sealed piston design is ideal choice for systems that reach boost pressures in excess of 28 psi where other bladder style valves may rupture or "lift" and leak during a pull.
After installing blow-off valves, the boost pressure is then vented to the atmosphere. This saves the turbos from accelerated thrust bearing and compressor wear and lets you drive your car like it's meant to be driven.
* We highly recommend changing out the factory Recirculation Inlet hose with Z1's Recirculation / Blow Off Valve Inlet Hose!
