Z1 Motorsports SPAL electric fan setups flow over 3300 m3 / hr at static pressure. An electrically driven fan reduces parasitic losses associated with driving a mechanical fan via a belt at the crankshaft pulley. This means more power put to the wheels and a quicker revving engine! An added benefit is the reduction of consumed space as this fan mounts directly to the radiator. These fans are intended to be mounted to the back side of the radiator in a pull configuration using suction to pull air through the radiator in place of the stock mechanical fan.
Included in the kit:
- 16" fan 3300+ m3 / hr
- FRH fan relay harness including necessary wiring, plugs & relay
- 1 fuse holder, and all the necessary hardware.
- Fan shroud Gasket - Pigtail - Zip tie Straps
SPAL fans are high quality 12v electric fans which exceed OEM standards. They are lightweight yet have proven reliability. The low profile of these fans is just what's needed in the limited space applications of today's high performance automobile.
-Curved blade design for increased strength and reduced noise
-Sealed Motor
-Individually balanced
The 185TS Thermatic switch is also available for an additional $25. This thermatic switch will turn the fan on at a temperature of 185 degrees and turns the fan off at 165 degrees. This switch is a 3/8" NPT thread. We recommend purchasing our Coolant Temp Sensor Adapter to install the Thermostatic Switch available as an option below.
Select the standard or high amp fan option below. The standard fan and high amp fans flow roughly the same volume of air up to 5 mm H20 static pressure. However as static pressure increases the high amp fan increasingly out flows the standard fan. The high amp fan requires significantly more current to operate and may pull 30 amps under high load. The high amp fan includes a considerably heavier and more expensive wiring harness and relay. While the standard fan meets the cooling needs of many street driven Z32s, the high amp extreme performance fan is sometimes required for more demanding conditions, track use, hot climates, or on Twin Turbos with a tendency to run on the hot side often because of other issues. Z32 owners should ALWAYS keep a close eye on coolant temperatures and aftermarket gauges including warning lights are recommended.
Please Note: High Amp fans require modification of the "gasket" for proper fit.
