How close does the 5 inch tops fit in relation to the stock 2004 350z rear bumper cutouts? Will I have a rattle or heat issue going that large?
Sean,
While fitment is closer we have not had issues with the larger tips requiring clearance work or causing damage.

I arranged for the item to be delivered to the shop where it was going to be installed. Got there within a week. Never had a problem with Z1 and their prompt shipping/service. After researching, asking friends and mechanic, I decided on the motordyne exhaust, I definitely don't like raspy exhausts and this exhaust has none of that. The cold start is loud but won't upset the neighbors. At least they haven't complained yet. The real satisfaction comes when you give it the beans, it's beastly.

Best exhaust for the 350z, also love the v-band clamps so I don't have to worry about rusted exhaust bolts if I have to remove any segments for doing work.

Had this on my car for 4 years, looks great and definitely wakes up the 350z as it relates to sound! I always receive compliments on how my car sounds, not too loud but just right. Noticeable gain in performance.

Just finished installing my TDX2 exhaust, and let me tell you, it\'s no joke. This is one of, if not the best sounding exhausts for the 350Z. On top of that, I got very noticeable power gains throughout the rev range, especially low end grunt and the motor revs much more freely. Also, this exhaust is extremely well made and the materials are top grade, so while it is pricey you get what you pay for. One last note is that this exhaust fits really well, HOWEVER, you may want to know what you\'re doing around a car before you try to install this yourself, the tolerances between parts is VERY close, not rubbing, but less than a half inch in either direction in some places lol. Which is all well and good, but the whole system is connected via V-band clamps which don\'t allow a lot of adjustability during the install. So if you have something a little off in the early parts of the exhaust, your tips won\'t line up by the time you get to the end. Places I had the most issue getting the clearance, were right near the chassis brace, and where the passenger side pipe goes between the sway bar and the chassis. But honestly to sum it all up, this is the best exhaust I\'ve ever seen/heard on a Z.
