This is the newest and latest release of the 300ZX (Z32) manual transmission. The earlier version of the 300ZX Transmissions have soft synchro rings, and cause grinding in gears. With the latest release from the later model Z32 from Japan, the synchro rings, along with a few new designed gears, this transmission is designed to last.
*This transmission is intended to fit Twin Turbo models ONLY. This transmission can be used as an upgrade to naturally aspirated Non-Turbo 300ZX's but will require you to use a Twin Turbo Clutch and Flywheel as well as a Twin Turbo Speedometer Sensor Gear. The Twin Turbo speed sensor is machined straight inline with the transmission housing while Non-Turbo 5-speed sensors are offset. To use a non-turbo speed sensor, the TT gear will either need to be inverted, the sensor will need to be shimmed, or the sensor will need to be clocked differently. (Custom bracket will need to be made to re-clock speed sensor)

Often the 20+ Year old Alternator to Transmission harness is brittle and corroded causing inoperative or inaccurate readings for transmission sensors. This harness also supports the alternator and starter signal circuits, problems with this harness can leave you stranded.
Easily replace it while you have the transmission out!
Z1 now offers a replacement harness for much less than the Nissan counterpart, add it as an option with the transmission and save even more!
Note: The optional rear main seal kit does not include the rear main seal retainer gasket due to it being discontinued by Nissan. It is recommended to use Fluid Gasket (RTV) as a replacement.
