Over time, the rear hatch struts tend to wear out and loose their ability to raise and hold the hatch. In either case, owners often find themselves either being struck with the hatch as it falls back down or discovers that the hatch becomes increasingly heavy as the struts fail.

Replacing the struts is an easy process requiring only a few bolts to be removed.
