Z1's Low-Pressure Fuel Pump Upgrade (LPFP) is an easy-to-install upgrade for the in-tank fuel pump in the VR30-powered Infiniti Q50 and Q60. It provides the additional fuel flow necessary for cars with higher levels of tune and those using ethanol fuel.
The pump comes in a complete kit, including Z1's billet aluminum fuel pump brackets. These anodized aluminum brackets allow you to mount the pump in the factory fuel pump basket and require minimal modifications to the pump assembly to do so. This mounting solution ensures the pump will stay in place under virtually any conditions, whether you're a serious drag racer or just use your car to commute. It is relatively simple to install but does require some cutting and butt-connecting of wires. Stainless steel hardware is included with the brackets, ensuring maximum corrosion resistance when using high-ethanol fuels. You may choose to add a replacement fuel tank o-ring in the product options. Nissan recommends replacing this o-ring any time the fuel pump assembly is removed.
The included Walbro 525 fuel pump flows an astounding 470lph at 40psi, and is capable of supporting up to 800whp in VR30 applications. This fuel pump features an internal check valve to avoid system leak-down, preventing extended cranks. Modifications to the fuel pump are completed in-house, providing the customer with a kit that is ready to install when delivered.
Installation note: Due to the high current draw of Walbro fuel pump, it is necessary to upgrade the fuel pump wiring using a relay harness to ensure the pump receives sufficient power at all times. Z1 recommends using the DeatschWerks Fuel Pump Hardwire Kit when installing a Walbro 525 pump.
